Checking a phone number

When you're dealing with a stranger — a buyer, a seller, someone answering an ad — it helps to know a bit about the number before you call or share anything. Admister has a small tool for that at /tools/phone.

What it does

Enter a phone number and it gives you a quick read on the number's reputation and spam risk — whether it's been flagged, and how likely it is to be a nuisance or scam line. It's meant to be a sanity check, not a verdict on the person.

When to use it

• A deal that feels rushed or too good, and you want a second signal before committing.
• An unexpected call or message claiming to be about your listing or order.
• Any moment where you're about to move money and want to slow down for a second.

How to read the result

A clean number isn't a guarantee that everything's fine, and a flagged one isn't proof of fraud — plenty of ordinary numbers pick up flags. Treat it as one input among several. Combine it with the usual habits: keep payments on the platform, be wary of anyone pushing you off-site, and use the report button on a listing if something feels wrong.
